WE NEED PARENT VOLUNTEERS FOR LIFE SKILLS!
The K – 4th grade Life Skills program offers students information they can use to make healthy life-long choices. This program includes topics such as self-esteem, accepting differences, coping skills, stranger safety, anti-bullying, alcohol/ drugs/tobacco and peer pressure.
Volunteers are needed to present the Life Skills program to each individual class. No experience is necessary and training is provided!
You have the opportunity to teach your child and his or her classmates important lessons that will create an immediate impact and foster continued good choices. Your child and their classmates will love learning from you!
It’s easy!
- Self-guided training is provided. Simply reach out directly to Minda Maggio, District Life Skills Coordinator and she will provide the training materials to you via email. Minda’s email address: mmaggio@htps.us
- You will need about ½ hour to prepare before the lesson. You may be working with another parent volunteer.
- The presentation in the classroom will take 45 minutes to 1 hour during the weeks of February 23 and March 2, 2026. All materials, handouts and the lesson are all provided for you.
The programs for each grade are as follows:
Kindergarten: It’s Okay to Be Different - Self Esteem
Grade 1: Stranger Safety
Grade 2: Coping Skills For Life
Grade 3: How I Learned Not to Be Bullied
